- Search tools: Internet, newspaper, company website, Facebook , job/career fairs
- Dont burn your bridges
- Make a good first impression, you never know who you are meeting
Interview Attire:
- Dress to impress
- It’s better to overdress than under-dress
- Think like an employer (what would I want an applicant to wear)
- Dress conservatively: “no crack, front or back”
Interview Tips:
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early
- Come dressed professional: clothes neatly pressed, no jeans or tennis shoes, limit piercings or take them out completely, no gum, no visible tattoos, no low cut tops
- Be friendly and courteous to the receptionist
- Smile and be friendly with all of those you come in contact with
- When greeted for your interview, make sure to have a firm handshake and good eye contact
- Review the company and position you are interviewing for prior to the interview
- Make sure to have your cell phone turned off or leave in your car
- Stay focused on questions asked
- Say please and thank you
- Have a resume and references available
- Email or send a “thank you” letter after your interview
*Remember, this summer internship, Future Achievers will have its Summer Internship program. Students will complete a three day training program to teach employment skills and prepare them for their internship. Students will get the opportunity to intern in a field of their choosing.
